the empire of Torifan is expanding. *glorious laughter*
ok ok,i exaggerated, at least more people are trying to listen to tori.
first there was louis tan who told me she's not bad!
and meiling who told me Mr. Zebra was good!
then adele who agreed to sign a '1-Tori-Song-Sent-to-Her per MSN conversation' contract! (her evaluation was 'she is good.')
also aaron who begged me for 'The Power of Orange Knickers'!
and finally ivan who asked me which tori songs were good to download!

not forgetting zzy and dennis who i THINK i can say i formally introduced tori's music too and turned rather ardent supporters (or should i say believers). :)

first my friends, next the world.

~

i'm down with a slight cold. itchynosed sneezing type beta.
definitely due to the lack of rest and late nights *glares at meiling.. msn conversations till 3:40am... ('i'm kidding!' he attempts to pacify the queen.)*
and the weather has been rather erratic but what's new. its either gloomy cloudy humid ,with threat of rain or bloody hot. So i'm either sweating it out or hiding under umbrellas.

i suspect there's a flu bug out there. cos jiabin, lisheng, ivan and i are all done with a slight cold. i really wonder where these bugs come from when ppl say, "there's a flu bug out there". what. are there hives or something where they anxiously crowd at the exit , anticipating their next attack? or issit jus the accumulation of germs till they exceed health limits?

bah. im grumpy.

~

i've finished writing 2 short stories so far. about 3/4 done with the 3rd but a brainfreeze-cross-mindblock is hindering my path to completion. humph.

well im really glad to have 3 private critics who i'll religiously send my works to and have them comment on it.

there is dennis who i share a surprisingly number of common ideals with.
my darling adele who is always so patient with my nonsense. :) i miss you CU MIAN GU NIANG!
and lastly, my 'xue jie' Zi Fang.

Well i realised i've been a little bit complacent and unheld back when i started calling her xue jie. But after all, she is still going to be my xue jie even if i dun get into Fudan University. She was a fellow LEP-ian in S6 during hcjc times and now my 'xue jie'.

Its really good to have someone who you can approach so forthwithingly regarding issues on anything in the Chinese Field. You are never embarrassed to clarify certain terms specifically used during lit crit. Nor are you afraid of stating what your work intended to deliver across. (despite how sometimes my fang jie will just tell me SPLAT : ' no i didn't get that feeling u wanted. at all. ' ) haha. i'm quite proud of how receptive i am. didn't think i would like it much.

Its always good to have a mentor but even better to have someone who is more or less, on par with you. She'll be very frank in her criticisms (which are sometimes really TO MY FACE) but at the same time, letting you know that both of us have gained from the reading and reviewing.
thanks fang jie!

Learning is a splendid process when you put your heart to it.

to my med friends>
i know you guys are undergoing tremendous stress. it almost sounds like hell.
Sometimes its just impossible to not want to cut out the learning bit and go straight to memory work and 'important' (ie to be tested in exams) details. But remember where your passion lies, look at what's ahead straight in the eye and simply take everything in. Stay focused guys/gers! U can do it. hols are a week away!

hmm is the whoring of emotions superior (morally) to the whoring of your body?
Or is it worse?

i really don't know. something to ponder on.

~

i finished my Heavens' Coin 1 VCD Series.
Now that i remembered the ending (watched it before in xiamen),
i wonder why they had to spoil everything with a part 2 (which i watched before).
Despite the fact that Noriko Sakai looked much better in part 2 and the storyline was so much more heart-wrenching,
i still feel that there is NO reason to kill that little ideal where the chi1 xin1 guy gets to accompany the girl he loves forever.

Anyway. i love my Main Pic. Took it on the hill of Gothemburg.
I know i've told many of my friends this before (or they know it already) but i'm gonna say it again :

The guy in the photo was wrapping the girl up in a blanket and cooing this Swedish folksong-like thingy to her in the cold hilly winds.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
