After visiting jiabin's blog one too many times, i (very quickly) realise how irritating embeds CAN be. But of course the blogger has a vital role to play. The difference being how I can choose Tori songs and how some people can choose the high-pitched, squeaky, absolutely GEEKY "The Brain Song" by Pinky and the Brain. -_-"

SO

I've decided to unhide my embed (you got ur way louistan) but i appeal sincerely that my dear readers would give my songs a try and listen to them once (at least). I find this a very convenient way to introduce my favourite songs to you people. Spreading the love. Of course there is SOME love i would rather some ppl keep to themselves. *casts a dirty look at boon*

I'm really excited bout putting up cny songs tho. *spastic wide smile*

I've been looking high and low for two songs :
1) Fei Yu Qing's " Yu Bu Sa Hua Hua Bu Kai "
2) Fang Wei Zhen's " Wo Dao Di Shu Hu Le Ni Shen Me "

Anyone have them pls let me know. I LOVE the latter. Super retro. Fei's song is pretty nice too cos he goes into this UNBELIEVABLY HIGH range with his almost flawless falsetto. Boy can he sing. its some china wen2 yi4 song.

Erm. I have an absolutely embarrassing confession to make.

*shifts uncomfortably in seat and looks down at the floor*

Well... *pauses*

You know i ever dressed up as Santa once in hougang mall and thomson plaza...

well... erm.... this time round... *hesitates*

Jus for the CNY season, i mean, since its quite festive and for the fun of it.. *feeble attempt at justification*

I'm gonna dress up as... er...*meekly*

hmm...

cai

shen

ye

.....

*Lili's nostrils enlarge and gives a wide-eyed look of horror*
*Christine lets out this shattering cry of anguish and rolls on the floor (undoubtedly foaming at the mouth)*
*Zhao looks positively scandalised and heartlessly turns away*
*Meiling covers her mouth to stifle her gasps*
*Lihui and Boon starts roaring out in ceaseless laughter and their heads start to swell into huge clown-faced balloons with their fingers pointed straight at my face*
*Junjie cowers away in a corner in fear and goes into uncontrollable spasms*

*Adele disowns me as a friend*

.....

heh. keke. quite embarrassing la i know. But there are generous 'incentives' *sly grin* which i cannot declare on my public blog. Oh well, i think only my lok pok, money-grubbing, desperate campmates welcome the idea wholeheartedly. The moment i told some of them bout it, i could tell they were about to gather into groups of 8 to ask if the organiser needed "The 8 Immortals". -_-" I'm doing partly out of fun also. I dun find it degrading mah. :| Its quite hilarious actually. when i was contacted , i practically knocked myself into a wall laughing. And i think adele was VERY (mildly putting it) tickled (and humiliated for having such a friend) by the idea.

Well if i knew that i was gonna be Fortune God sooner, i'll probably get some of my friends to come hang around . Keke. Quite hilarious mah. And i bet some superstitious few will rush all the way down to shake my hand or stroke my beard right before their mahjong games or their 4D speculations.

haha. i'll post photos up asap. :)

Oh i have a mini-idol from the political scene now. Deng Xiao Ping Tong Zhi!

~

Heard from 933's adverts that Zhou Wen Sen (my year HC Chi Soc Chairman) got into the finals for their DJ competition. So did some other guy i sorta know , Kun Da (also from HC Chi Soc). I find it pretty cool that fellow LEP students are venturing into different fields : zzy and his chinese song-writing , wen sen and his stage performances and deejaying and xy as a reporter in U-magazine. i hope i will one day be able to emerge in the chinese literary scene. :| But i'm still much too incompetent. I hate the stuff i write when i read them over. Too amateurish. Too pretentious. But i shan't give up. more reading. more writing. *grits teeth*

~

I have strong bones. Because i love dairy products. YAY. More cheese, more choc, more butter, more ice cream and more milk please.

its jus too bad i have oily slippery yellow gobules of fat stuffing the space between my bones and my skin. for the very same reason.

What's new on my blog?
haha.
i know !

As i was telling zhao, there's a love-hate relationship for musical blogs (like qisheng's: corrine may's "fly away" , ivan and his irritating midi "this love" intro and jiabin's HORRENDOUS "The Brain Song" )

Love it when I have music playing.
Hate it when others have it.

But oh well. Since i finally got down to finding out how to play mp3s on my blog, dun blame me darlings. Anyway, its good for song recommendation too.

This month is tori month.
next (by popular request) should be S.H.E. and Yanzi month.

If u hate it. Erm. Mute your pc.

I'll just like to know if it interrupts songs that you were playing on your own computer. That would be RATHER irritating even though i dun usually play songs while using PC (can't concentrate on either).

This song is from Tori's most recent album (not the compilation) :

"Amber Waves" - Scarlet's Walk

I've been rushing through my Tian Long Ba Bu VCD. Its China produced. And a freaking impressive production i will say. If you liked LOTR, you will love the abundance of scenic shots in this series. Caves are caves and not spraypainted styrofoams. Mountains are mountains, majestic and towering and not silly hills. And if you thought the filmography is bad, think again. I think its the best swordfighting series by far, alot of emphasis put on filmography. Absolutely delicious.

China cast (except Lin Zhi Ying and Christy Chung) which is what makes it even better. I think Hong Kong actors spoil the feel of swordfighting novels (less convincing but not without its merits : a star-studded glam cast) . Nice dialogue and accurate enough for the average Jin Yung fan (which i'm obviously not. not "AVERAGE". ) Even though TLBB is my LEAST favourite Jin Yung novel, i'm actually quite addicted.

Oh and the martial arts is WOOOHA!
" ZHEN GONG FU ! " I look forward to every SINGLE fighting scene.
And CG (most of the time) is appropriately applied.

a 8.5/10 for a series. 1 pt deducted for the storyline (grin) and .5 deducted for (as always) uncompleteness and inaccuracy.

Zhao> seriously lets loan China's version of She Diao (act. i dun mind HK one too! cos that's wat got me reading JY novels.) and watch together when clearing leave. MOVIE MARATHON. dele can join us if she's back. Dun think they have shen diao yet. I dun wanna rewatch yi tian tho. Somehow its not as good cos its half taiwan too.

I found out that:

Deng Xiao Ping was ever condemned by Mao and was forced out of the political scene. Den made to go through corrective labour during Cultural Rev. His son was gradually forced towards suicide by the clans that were trying to coerce him into 'exposing' his father's political crimes. He survived but was paralysed waist down. And how Deng and wife were separated from their children for years.

Its quite disturbing how the clans tortured people suspected of pro-capitalism / pro- class divison / anti-communism. The means included, toothpicks in between your finger and fingernails, pliers on your fingers, nails into kneebones etc. Eventually drove many of them to suicide. Even the principal of Beida den who was accused to be a "traitor to the party" was hung from his thumbs from the ceiling and made to confess to the allegations.

What dark times.

Ooh. CNY is here! My all-time favourite festival.
Good food, good money and good fun!
Pineapple tarts/hey-bee-hiam/chocalate mint cookies/almond cookies/ kuey pan cake/ BA GUA/chocs/ Kueh lapis/ang pows/ blackjack!/si-kee-puay (4 card game) / mahjong/new clothes!/house-visiting/pomelos/love letters/marshmallows/reunion dinner!!!/FAT duck/JUICY chicken/FRESH abalone/HUMONGOUS mushrooms

wahahahha. its all bout e food and e money u might think?
Nooooo. Its really bout wearing new clothes and strutting around in them.
NO LAH. haha. i just like the Re4 and the Nao4 and the SU2!!!
CNY songs blasting on the radios 24-7. rocking. ladidar. ooh my favourite is :

Chun Tian Yi Lai Ying Chun Hua Kaiiiiiiii~
Ying Chun Hua Kai
Ren Ren Aiiiiiiii~

(rapidly) Ying Chun Hua YA Chu Chu Kai YA
XING YA XING FU LAI
XING FU LAI YA XING FU LAI YA
DA DI FA GUANG CAIIIIII!!!

n then my fav. part ..
bla bla bla
HEY HEY YA! HU! HEY!

OOh
Watch out for CNY songs on my blog too!
O no. im so su2 qi4.

Do i sound overexcited? i can't help it.

I like wearing new clothes. Mum bought a pair of new pants for me. hehe. and i've got 2 new tees and 1 new shirt. shld be enough. but i dun mind going shopping for another pair of pants.

Everyone should love CNY.
It makes you high even when its 12:37 am and you have a stuffy nose (fcuk).

~

Lala. im not poor anymore. lala.

Oh on the albums again :
Li Sen Jie and Chen Kun :
Each album had 2 nice songs. Period.
haha. Not unexpected.
Li Sen Jie has a 20% Jacky Cheung and 80% Ronald Cheng voice. Pretty good. Love his "shou fang kai" but erm. that's bout it. his other songs are the MOST COMMONPLACE , ORDINARY chinese pop ballads i've EVER heard. If you never heard chinese pop ballads before, go listen to his album. its stockful of it. *shudders*
its like Zhou Chuan Xiong hit by a AVALANCHE of inspiration. Thrice. Su2 Si3 Le4. ANd the lyricist should be shot. Twice. He makes Ren Xian Qi's lyricist blush.
Album rating : 4/10

Chen Kun , on the other hand , experimented. Hmm. I wun say its a lousy album. But its def. not good. The high notes he hit in "Yan Huo Hua" made me buy this P.I. album but that was the ONLY song that had them. The others were cashing in on his low range which is very average. Bossa Nova and jazz tracks were the ones i didn't mind dat much. the others were hmm. once-is-enough. DEF. NOT recommended for ppl who hate china accents, its rampant. but im starting to quite like the way they sing. MAYBE. MAYBE i can go give pu shu another chance. *thinks for a microsecond* ok. maybe not. The lyrics, were in between bloody 'convenient, brainless lyrics' and 'trying to use one or two more idioms n cheemer vocab to show i'm chinaman'. terrible too.
Album rating : 3.5/10

haha. i dun regret buying them but i wonder why Aurora was cheaper. Bigger album plus better songs and better packaging.

Heh. din go to camp these 2 days. (sorry to ivan. took off last minute la. got kang kang n chek to play w u mah) one entire week away from camp. and guess what? i have no more off left. haha. Gr. Only leave. but its okay, going site nxt week.

I realised :
1) i'll miss having my bro around for CNY, sth's jus missing. sth HUGE,in fact. heh.
2) i can't stand office work. Or desk jobs. human interaction is so freaking impt. cubicle life. i'll rather die. unless u pay me 5000 a mth. haha.
3) (i realised AGAIN. with more hardcore faith.) Money makes me SO happy.
4) Women are REALLY amazing creatures. All of them. I never want to uncover their true depth, i prefer thinking that they are mysterious and intelligent. Each of them hold a story , i feel. Its a bit tougher with bimbos and lians. but i'll like to give them the benefit of the doubt.
5) Mums (not nagging) are the second most beautiful things to babies (not crying).
6) All the food i like are heaty. And i get pimple outbreaks when i get heaty. So yummy food = pimples. hurray.
7) My knee might never recover. Fcuk.
8) My dad is a pitiful "Man", trapped in his own chauvinism and ego. its alright dad, i still love you.
9) It feels damned good to set up a DIY cupboard with your dad. And then taking a lunch break with wooden shavings-covered hands and then getting back to work without clearing up the dishes. Periodic chauvinist kick getting to me.
10) I'm gonna have a maid in less than 2 weeks. *GROAN*
