I worship you, St. Splurgy.
Well, so much for getting over guilt pangs after my impulsive buy (:P LcT) yesterday, while e wound in my heart and pocket was still fresh, i spent another $38. Well it's a long story. Ha. Here goes:
jiabin, chris and i had a stuffing good lunch at Ricetable! Well for $15 we got quite a deal, 10 refillable dishes : Keropok (A), Satay (A+, e peanut sauce was heavenly but a bit too sweet so chris n i scraped it off on jb's satay), Grilled Chicken (A-), Achar (i liked it, so B+), Vege stew (B), Beef Stew (C-.. eeps) , Curry Chicken (B-), Spicy Prawns (A+! great sauce) , Otah (C,bland), Chicken Soup (B+, nice n special with Ba Cuo Mee's Ba Cuo in it. hahha :P winks at chris), fried fish (A, with thai sweet chilli. yum.),tahu telor (A+),salty n sour fruit salad (C+) and the WHOPPING GOOD EGGPLANT. Wah. it was e best. Serious. Even got special recommendation by some Makansutra equivalent award thingy. hahahahah. *sly grin* okay okay. e truth : it was terrible. super bland but yes, it did rcv some award. i have NO IDEA Y.
Okay, i wun tok too much bout e food, cos it's e company dat's most impt. >:]
Well, first time i'm trying this combi out so it was pretty fun. Haha. Christine was laughing quite hard so i suppose she din mind lousy jb who kept insulting her. Rude fart. :) But yah la, u know i can't resist bullying chris when i get a chance. So the both of us were shifting all e more popular dishes to our side (jb and i were on e same table) while e kang kong (oh ya! i forgot bout e kk, er...u can guess how it tasted) and eggplant kept appearing in frt of chris. And we were making stupid jokes at how we couldn't eat e Eggplant cos there are eggs in it(-_-), laughing at e stupid 8-8-8-8-la leng chang xiao hua, where we could hide our excess food and a whole lot of stupid things. hehe. Anyway, yah,it's quite pleasant , too bad lili couldn't join in ( i can't believe boon is trying to matchmake e 2 of us. dat's SO random. i suspect he has a secret liking for her, so he's using underhanded primary school means to get close to her. tsk tsk. BOON. Outdated le la! :P ) We could do this again. heh.
Anyway, we were SO stuffed. we decided we had to walk around. NOT REALISING we had a bomb on our hands. CHRISTINE. She started throwing herself at all e possible stores, from Sins Choc, to Cold storage, to watch and jewellery shops, so she could start 'signing' her new Mastercard for her FIRST TIME. my country bumpkin friends.*shakes head* hehe anyway, we found ourselves in the bossini outlet at Centrepoint. And there there....*fights the tears, bites lower lip* IT happened. (turns away) haha.super drama. EEEHA! Anyway, chris decided she'll get either a Capri or a Clam Ripper (wait..Digger) . I sound like some fashion guru. Hehe. It's e first time hearing this 2 terms but i think it jus means berms-4-gers in e guy sense. Enlighten me.
Then jiabin and i pranced off to the men's section to look around and spotted JEANS on offer! $29 per pair! Rocking. So jb said he'll try one which color he liked. well, i was jus casually looking around, uninterested, untempted. BUT NEVER. NEVER LEAVE ME ALONE TO WAIT FOR YOU TO COME OUT FROM FITTING ROOMS!
It's... dangerous. So well, the both of them went to try on their picks, and i was left there, squeezed into Chris' denim jacket (haha. i like to wear it) with 2 bags under my care. Then my eyes went all over the jeans and then i thought : hmm i dun have a pair of fitting jeans. I really dun! my fav pair is this too short, too loose pair. Cos it's e only one dat can make it among all e "Dad picks" (dad picks are baaaad. looks like the Bangla type. very yux blue) or "Outgrew-it"s. But i decided NAH. I jus spent $30 yesterday. So ladada, waited. Boon came out and the jeans looked good! (not cos of him, heh) So i thought i should jus TRY it. "jus TRY it" - who's kidding who. Tried one. Tried another size. Tried another colour. Tried a t-shirt to see if it went along with it anddddd VOILA! I got BOTH JEANS and TEE. Yay for me!
But it's quite a steal isn't it! JEANS lei. and a nice tee. Heh. On offer mah. "2 Tees for $20" mah. boon got e other one and he got a pair of jeans too. And chris got a Capri and er... some other stuff la (:D) And we spent $120 in total so we even got a BOSSINI PRIVILEGE CARD! It's ridiculous! haha. And jiabin got it. (slit-eyed look) Why on earth him? But aiyah, he so ah soh so we let him get it. (snorts, w chris) Anyway, yah, we're now the Bossini Gang cos we told boon to call us everytime he was gonna do Bossini-Buying. Hahaha. Quite fun. Den we went fm floor to floor. No other buys fortunately tho chris had her eyes all over shoes and earrings. Now i know y she spends so much. Not only do i know WHY, I was INFLUENCED. Ashamed of miself!
Met meiling after that for a really (literally) uneventful outing! haha we jus sat at some restchairs at taka but aiyah, dat's ml style. But we talked quite a bit till she met w Louie! (ooooh who's dat u ask?? it's her french husband. haha. it's jus louis tan la. i jus like saying Louie.)
BY THE WAY.i think meiling is gorgeous! (am i allowed to say that? *turns around and looks at his manager, some hushed whispers, turns back to e camera*) yeah! i think she is! *big grin* hey niang niang! hello! *waving frantically* haha. lala. but it's jus mi opinion. And lauren's. Lau told me dat quite some time ago and i was giving e crooked brow but now... YEA. hhaa. NIANG NIANG, i bet u're beetrooting now. :P I'm so kou3 wu2 zhe1 lan2.

SG IDOL WILDCARD ROUND:
Okay. Jus heard e results. VERY surprised. But nth is worse than e JerryOng incident.
So Sly got in. (they have S-L-Y posters. why?! i thot it was some wrong positioning but NO. they intended it to be SLY) Hmm. I think he is quite a clever chap and quite cute too. Cos he won his votes over with a winning smile which he perpetuated throughout his performance. Haha. It's really such a change! His smile did wonders! His entire feel went from dark-ahbeng-rocker-wanna-be to a-bit-F4-a-bit-rocker sg idol-maybe. heh. I was pretty won over (bad eng i know) by his smile and his eyes (they TWINKLED. so un-rocker right?! hahha) but his diction is a big prob, quite chinese ah beng. (yeah i agree nyo nyo.) nice voice tho. He should consider a change of style (no more bon jovi) to sth slightly clearer.I'd like to see dat happen.

Okay. MAIA was good. I think she really has power in her voice. But i dun like such voices la. COs i heard her do "Remember me this way" and it was jus urg. So i dun think she can do slow songs. but see her move man. With moves like dat and such a sweet face, (heard she clubs alot), no wunder she got pregnant at 19. I say dat without ANY discrimination. Single dads and moms: u rock.
I was quite disgusted w Gurmit! When talking to Maia, he was simultaneously having a really "DEEP" conversation with her cleavage. And ALL e eyecontact was going DOWN if u know wat i mean. In front of e camera too! Yeah, i know she's short but hello, it was right at my face, no not her boobs but his unprofessionalism. And i thot he could be Mr. Nice Guy. Eeps.
BEVERLY. U rock idol world. (dis is such a typical singaporea idol, shown on tv sms grammar) I think she did her act with such star quality! It was a totally different feeling from Maia's? Cos she looked like a 100% Performer and not like jus a wild girl having her fun onstage. She's really Artiste material. Maybe not idol cos i realised she isn't popular. TWICE. with TOPS PERFORMANCE among all e contestants and she din get in! It's a real wonder. But i'm glad e judges are pushing for it altho it seemed more of a gimmick. Cos THEY know she wun go any further than top 12 when it's gonna be 100% sg's votes. Cos sg viewers are biased and deaf. >.< HELLO. SHI2 LI4 can? Stop voting in weirdos can? Taufiz and Jerry Ong. JOKERS. Wah her fast number matched up to "angel" from e last round, damned good. And she is jus great onstage. I'm rooting for her , against all odds.

Shirin Shirin. All u have is power. Her voice is jus pure power. No attitude. Jus power. There were so many times i was cringing cos i thought her voice would crack but she jus went on and on and on. Like some reservoir of ... POWER.

On Rashes :
oh cool,the rashes sorta decided to disappear 2 days ago. but the little worms causing it made their way quietly to my PALM. so now there are a few secret poxes congregating at e fleshy part of mi palm which decide to cause a bomb of itch when they feel like it. But at least i'm released from itchell (meant to be 'itch - hell' but i noticed how it looked like mitchell as in joni mitchell? eeeps. random.)
And i jus found out mom has poxes too for a year already. (bu xiao zi) Big red dots which itch like crap. Hmm but e doc asked her to keep away from foods like CHEESE (ahem), MILK (ahem ahem), BEEF (cough) and SEAFOOD (cough cough). So mom jus decided to screw e advice n die of itching instead. Wat's e point of life without CHEESE and BEEF and SEAFOOD? (milk is okayyyyy)
On AHM :
Yay. Finally i remem to update u guys : i'm pulling out from e Army Half. yeah. mi knee can't tahan 21 km. so yeah. i'm actually feeling okay. not like sore or anything but would have liked to ahem... "go the distance".
On Songs:
I'm addicted to two Faye Wong duets now : " Ai Yi Ci Gei Bu Gou" - Jacky Cheung and " Ke Wang Wu Xian Ask For More " (Pepsi ad song) - Aaron Kwok. Totally kicks ass.
And they are super old songs.
Decided that i must start taking out some cds to listen. Some pretty good ones which i didn't do justice to by just leaving it on my md (old days) fer 2 weeks like Joni Mitchell's "Hissing of Summer Lawns" , Damien Rice's "O" , Jiang Mei Qi's last 2 albums and Penny's "No Penn No Gain (jus e name makes me embarrassed)" So i had to delete mi entire English song folder in my MuVo and sub. it with selections from each of the above albums. Oh well, can't keep listening to classics (i realli am not up to date with eng songs).
Somehow i'm glad i dun have an ipod. The storage space is abundant and so irresistable that i would have (like wat mi bro is doing now) burnt every single album i have into it, and wat is wrong with dat, u ask? In my opinion, i think it's a lack of preference and doing outright "easy listening". It's not realli sour grapes la , i mus admit i would have liked one to put all mi OTHER files instead. But if i were to even put CDs like Pu Shu's in, and play all mi songs by random, i wouldn't have to/want to/can't spend time relistening to certain singers or songs whose production efforts deserve the attention.
I proclaim (my 2nd proclamation of e week) Jason Mraz no.1 vocalist for this entire month. I worship.
On wat i've set out to do :
yay. I got mi passport done. Looking fine. >:) Nice photo. heh. no lah, i dun realli like how mi hair looks. When i meant short, i meant short. Not furry-head.
I met jiabin today for Pasta Mania. Well it was sorta like a compromise of quality for quantity cos we both decided not to go try Fresca or some Italian Cafe cos we'll rather have "each a pasta and a pizza to share". hah. And we shared a Blueberry Chilled Cheesecake at Secret Receipe (6/10 cheesecake. :P) AND decided to meet up tml for lunch at Ricetable (maybe with christine too! weird combi season). I know this is terrible. Both for my weight and my pocket. But we both agreed that it's NOT A TIME TO THINK BOUT SUCH STUFF (looks up in the sky in China Communist fashion)! With offs on weekdays, HOW CAN i miss out on the good lunch meal deals! (e ah soh in me cries out loud) So yeah. it's another $15 gone tmr.
Anyway, we both emptied half the cheese shaker into our pastas and pizza. And if u know pasta mania, u know how many calories i took in jus now. MANY.
I splurge. Think the driving lesson payments hit me so bad i decided to spend all my money. It's the " Since it's not gonna increase even if i do save so might as well spend it all away " mentality. Unique to me , myself n I. So i walked around, spotted some Giordano 100% linen pants dat looked pretty good (hey ml, go round wif me to see one day lei. fishin fer comments) but quite hard to match so decided to put in on hold. Went to ASICS (rocks) , they had a 40% OFF for 2 apparels offer! So after much "should-i-should-i-not" and gaping at how good the running singlet n shorts looked (not on me but jus... e singlet n shorts), i decided to heck it and pay $30 for a white running singlet and black running shorts. ROCKS. i'm gonna run everyday. (i always say dat i realised) My knee better not gimme ani shit after i made this purchase. EEEEHA!
Oh yeah, jj and chris, dun think u guys have e right to lecture me on mi extravagance jus cos i decided to sound a bit self-reprimanding, i still have MORE savings then u 2 added up , multiplied by 600000. heh~. And chris, oooooo, no money no tics eh? hahhaa. *whispers to jj: "Let's both go get $138 tics and make chris and huili pay $200 each to have one leg on each chair" * wahhahah. Jokes la. I'll return u when i see u la. noisy woman. dun believe u actually have $400 in credit. impressed. hee.

Mom jus told me some music producer said that SOME singer bought all her own albums to make it to e charts. WELL WELL. Now i feel quite sad for her, not only is she hideous, she buys her own albums. I wonder how big her house is.

On Running :
Ran 30 min today. Hmm. Stamina dropped but i tried a faster speed. Timing is better but stopped earlier today. Well, the pain came back almost instantaneously after a 1 week break. Let's see wat e xray says.

On weight loss :
OKAY PPL. IT'S OUT. E WEIGHT LOSS FORMULA.

Okay no la, i was jus checking out I weekly and they mentioned 2 things which haven't been like repeated for e 1000th time (like eat more vege, drink more water, eat less meat..hello...fei4 hua4.)
1) Keep urself warm at all times. Maximum calorie-burning occurs when our body is THIRTY SEVEN DEGREES. so dun let urself get cold. warm shld be fine i think.
2) Keeping a chest-up-tummy-in posture at all times not only makes u look better , it actually helps with muscle tightening so yay! it's not jus some pretence to look good anymore!
Okay. gotta sleep. driving at 8 tomorrow. WHO ON EARTH is up at 8 nowadays! besides army boys and students and working people and mothers? wait...hmm...okay everybody then. BUT STILL.

OKAY OKAY. Yes yes, I managed to get a ... "can i still call it dat? " long long weekend again. I CAN EXPLAIN. Cos of my duty eating into my weekends, i've got make-up operations off days (off-in-lieu)from today (tues. i jus got back at noon okay. i'm not dat slack.) till thurs. And i figured since the army is operating 5 days a week now, i might as well take a one day off on friday and have a long, uninterrupted rest with my weekend. And of course, my Medical Appt on Monday morning is also a push factor cos it means i get to sleep in on sunday too (hurray!) as i make my way to Paya Lebar (where on earth is that again?) for mi knee Xray. So i have ahem..SIX days of sleeping on my comfy mattress. okay la. i'm quite sad, it's realli quite lousy. my mattress. if not for e pc, i'll be sleeping over at my uncle's place instead where i get a kingsized bed ALL to MYSELF.
But i swear to not waste my 6 days of FREEDOM! If only people were free to like go Johor or some chalet now. :( but oh well, i never liked stay-overs but still it would have been nice to have an option which maximised my off days. So i've decided to bring in Mr. Discipline (its always a mister for some reason) and plan out my schedule diligently. (wow yum, mum jus gave me a pinch of her freshly baked bread. i taste cheese. *eyes go wonky*)
Things i need to do :
1) Get my passport updated
2) Get a haircut (DONE! it looks horrid. so short. Snorts at auntie)
3) Get my passport photos taken (DONE!)
4) Take two driving lessons (ONE DONE!)
5) GOT to practise my flute
6) Get the presents done (*wink wink* ALMOST!!!)
7) Visit granny ( :> ) at mandai
8) Eat as many lunches with my grandpa as possible
9) WRITE. I'm suffering from inspiration drought. I mus stop indulging in Jin
Yung.
10)Borrow books on Cultural Revolution. i am embarrassing.
11)Run. Run. Run.
Yay! And i've got some small things to settle like baking a STUPID brownie, make a doll, finish watching a jap serial and maybe get a few more. I love living in VCD world. I get to be brainless, passive and the world is TWO DIMENSIONAL-my dreamworld.
I've been feeling very simple these days. Well that jus means i've been thinking simply and not 'simply thinking'(yay for me ML). Think my hiatus (everyone's using this word so i'm gonna use it TOO. i dun give a damn whether i'm using it correctly or NOT.) at my site sorta calmed me down. I love the green. I wake up really early in the morning and walk up this slope and all around me are the furry green hills (yes. they look furry). and it's almost impossible to think of anything bad. And the morning skies are gorgeous, i describe it out loud to myself everyday in Mandarin , it helps my descriptive skills (so i can use some stuff i think of when i write) and sorta occupies me when i'm walking up.
Oh no. i find that my english sounds stupid. But oh well. I've not been reading english lately so ... bleahz.

i'm not excited at all. haha. think i'm jus asking everyone to go cos that's what zhengyi thought he would have done 2 years ago,i think i've grown out of ... it. But oh, i realli wanna see my class. And hopefully i get to eat Prince with Lihui, huili, chris and niang niang.
OH. and YAY! We got JIELUN TICS. A weird combination of Junjie and Me with Christine and Huili! haha. Dun ask me how it happened but they both were okay so i guess... OKAY! heh. I'm regretting SLIGHTLY for not getting the most expensive ones cos the $99 ones look quite sad. we get one corner. :( But aiya, i jus wanna sing with him ,moreover, i'm not like dying to touch his hand or smell his toes or something (grins slyly at furuibi and huili-san). NOVEMBER 27TH, something to look forward to! And furuibi, i'm not paying up! hahahhahahaha! (turns around and asks junjie) And junjie isn't too! hahhahahah!

I felt this hollowness yesterday when i was done with the ABSOLUTELY FINAL EPISODE OF THE FINAL SEASON of FRIENDS. 10 years. My mind was doing a brief recap of all e episodes i've done, Joey doing porn, Phoebe at the jackpot machines, Ross and Emily's wedding, Rachel and Brad Pitt, Rachel and her subordinate, Ross and his picnic basket, Emma, Monica fat, Monica thin, Chandler in his bathtub, the ducks, the old lady upstairs who died, even Janice and Gunther. :) I'll miss u guys.
But it wasn't as bad as losing Ally Mcbeal. :( I still miss the show! It reminds me of Kok Wee (Ling. GROWL.) and MOELC days : gossiping w bjb on e previous night's episode.
Well. well. I'll be there for you.
(oh i hate Channel 5, they make such great ads, i couldn't take it when they had each of e cast say some soppy stuff while showing them do the 'awkward huggy' things. )
