i'm back from HK everyone!
* to this imaginary fanatic friends who miss him like shit *
awww. dun EXAGGERATE. it was just a few days! i bet u dun mean THAT!

anyway.

i love hk. for its weather. for factory outlets. for dun nai (boiled milk dessert). for bo lo bao (maxim's). for good-looking and fashionable locals. for siu yok (roasted meat). for the yumcha-ing (breakfast dim sum). for cantonese (its such a smooth dialect. unlike the uncouth hokkien. *sneers*). for their HMV! (what a paradise. every dvd,vcd under the sun is there: even sex and the city and QAF.)

but other than that, hk is just a grey, crowded and foggy place.
i wun recommend it for a holiday spot unless you count a prolonged shopping spree staggered with good food as a holiday. but i won't mind living there though. but my apartment had better be near/on Victoria's Peak and spacious. Not those in Mongkok which are dilipitated and cramped. i think hk seriously needs two things, a MAJOR paint-over (every wall is grey (was white) and the paints are always peeling) and singapore's traffic/road system.

went to lan kwai fong. man. clubbers here can jus go to hell. its damned funky there la! imagine a sloping alley with clubs of all shapes and sizes and entirely different concepts on both sides of the road! expats and rich locals! cool weather so you can sit outside and get a drink or two! no underaged, brutish ah bengs. no blame-the-weather sloppily dressed slobs. no sweat.

i bought alot of things. spent bout $300 in total. Sing !!
excluding dinner cos i was treated most of the time. excluding airfare and lodging at my FIVE STAR ROYAL PLAZA (mu.ha.ha.ha.ha.). hmm. i think these pair of shirts i bought at AUTHENTIC ESPIRIT contributed alot to it. wrong choice. cos i didn't think i would find so much good stuff at the outlets at Fa Yun Kai the very next day. DANG.

but here are my trophies.

obviously not of all of the above are MY stuff. i got 3 tees, 1 shirt, 1 jacket, 1 cd, 2 vcds (to jj : MY HUO ZHE VCD!!!!! hahahhhahaha we no need to walk the entire singpaore le!) , 2 keychains, 1 mousepad. and the rest are gifts.

lalala. i realised i like shopping. its brainless. and you jus feel damned good after all the retail therapy. and what is better than some tong sui (dessert) when u need a break.

i din wanna come back to stuffy, hot ol' singapore. i'll avoid the streets these few days. i can't bear the weather and the ugly people.

heh.

Okay.
Ren Zhen = Mei Li.

I deduced this equation when i was having my usual good time with my mp3 player.
I saw the mtv for Hitomi Ni Tojite and Ken Hirai is really quite a gem. He looks serious bout his work even when he is pretending to look all shen1 qing2. and surprise, this chap actually looks pretty good. i thought he disallowed web photos of his cos he was mutated or sth. but he looks cool. YAY. i like the concept of my idols having good looks cos it just proves that its possible to have both shi2 li4 and wai4 mao4.

Now i'm just listening to these songs over and over again :
1) Damien Rice's B Sides
I tell you this guy is remarkable. His live could totally masquerade as a recording. and his b-sides are on par with the actual 'O' album. i can't tell you how much i recommend this album for people who just need to buy something to listen to. Tori i can't cos she is undebatably (is there such a word? LOUIS TAN!) alternative and i'll rather people not know her then misunderstand her.

2) Tori's The Beekeeper
Its as sure as the sun rises each freaking day of our lives : Tori's music WILL grow on you. Remember i commented how this album was much milder and conventional. i stand corrected. Its unbelivable how certain tunes can come out from her head and i can only churn out cheesy chinese pop-alike stuff. dang. and her vocal arrangements (whatever you call the harmonies) are more geared up than ever to secure the fact that this lady has a thrash-the-divas voice. powerhouse can just scurry away now.

3) John Legend's Get Lifted
ok i remember giving incorrect reviews for this. he isn't more traditional. he is just less electronic. i was fooled by the first impresion. He uses stuff like trumpets for an entire song. what a delight. i think Alicia has met her match. And his songs are fun to sing. and i don't mean sing-a-long like S.H.E.

4) Jazz - random singers, random songs
i think buble is just normal after i heard diana. its quite hard to explain since i've not been a very avid jazz listener. but somehow (timid to express his shallow thots on jazz) i feel buble has less of the jazz spirit. and norah jones is jus more lazy, country loungey. she's not bad too. i thot i din like her. but i still like diana krall best. :) i hope i can give more indepth reviews after i get more acquainted to the genre.

5) S.H.E's Wo Ai Ni.
Watch out Superstar. U are going to get dethroned from 'All Time Fav. S.H.E. song" soon. I wonder how i can do tori right after S.H.E. i wonder what tori has to say bout this. hah.

6) Ken Hirai's SentimentaLovers
This album has been in my player ever since it came out. Its more for his hit-the-sky vocals.

Now i must start focusing on work. i realise how a person just glows when he/she is focused and aflame with passion. and sitting down in front of ur pc 24-7 on msn toking crap (oooh, talking crap w dele n zhao rox!!! 4 saved conversations. i never used to save my conversations. but i laffed so hard this time round i had to. i'll be putting them up for sale soon. the conversations i mean.)

~

still din get to find my sekai....ai wo sakebu dvd box set , ost or poster. not in hk either. so i guess i have to splurge once again. and order it online. *gulp*
