finished my last round of meetups yesterday.
not that i won't be meeting up with anyone anymore but that was the last of my scheduled appointments.
very appropriately, it ended with a ktv session.
like qs, i think ktv would be sth i'll really miss. well, not that shanghai doesn't have ktvs. in fact, they are Superior (a high tea with cheesecakes and pastry, personalised service, red velvet sofas , king-sized rooms for maybe 7-10 dollars for an entire night).
but i'll miss ktv-ing with jj. with jj and jb. with lili, chris, lihui,jj and jb. with adele n zhao n melet. even ktv-ing with my aunts and parents. ktv-ing will never be the same again. no more tamborines and shakers. no more standing on the sofas from the start till the end.
Ktv isn't ktv if you sit from the start till the end or if you don't do S.H.E. , Jolin and F.I.R. or you try to sound good. *bawls* heh. oh well. thats what makes ktv-ing back home unique i guess. And therefore, it will probably be one of the compulsory back-home activities next time.

had swensens after ktv. was so much fun stealing fries from one another and hopping from flavour to flavour for our 2 Topless 5's (5 scoops of ice cream) . Oh the Swensens apple crumble is divine for its price. love the presentation and the caramel sauce!

OH DO WE LOVE OUR FRIES...

THE BEAUTIFUL

THE THOUGHTFUL (?)

i'll really miss you ppl.

After meeting up with the guys and girls, i was headed to Republic Plaza for a dinner with my family and my 3rd aunt's family.

Heard alot about this Tower Club place that my aunt was treating dinner at, was expecting it to be glam and classy but not that far off from all the other country clubs my aunt goes to.

But man, was i in for a surprise. First it was the elevator. Odd and Even floor divide. Okayyy. Then i realised that Tower Club was only 3 floors in this Republic plaza building. Now that was weird.

62nd floor. okaaaay. My ears blocked and unblocked as i went up on the elevator.

And when it hit 62nd, i was greeted by this lady in a suit. Introduced myself as one of my aunt's guest and the lady led me to this corner where she opened a door in a wall and took out a jacket.

"Here sir, I'm sorry but you will have to slip this jacket on when you leave your dining room (DINING ROOM?!) for the washroom because your bottoms are semi-jeans
(bah. semi-jeans?) "

So i was led into a room called the Sulawesi room and man, words fail me. i was gaping when i saw the room. here are some photos.

Note the the number or wine glasses. i used 3 out of 5 : champagne , sparkling red wine (rare and pretty good stuff) and red . I love fine dining.
Please look at the bottom left photo. Its the VIEW from the dining room. THE FREAKING VIEW. It overlooks the city! Its like looking out from a plane descending at Changi airport. Just MORE gorgeous. If only i could turn off the lights in the room, it would be so romantic.
That's our 1st starter. Chawan mushi - a japanese egg soup appetiser . But it was served in an egg! how exotic. yay! im a sucker for presentation. (ml : had foie gras as 2nd starter. ooo not bad!)
That's my bro's dessert - Chocolate SOUP. I know it looks like sth we all rather not mention but i thought it was pretty. :( It tasted pretty good, cool chocolate soup which was like a nice chocolate drink, not too thick, not too diluted with chunks of fruits in it. its like a light fondue. AHhhhh.

the only problem was Ryan my kid cousin was around. man. fine dining at tower club can be any macdonald kid's room party with that rascal around. but oh well, he's quite cute at times. :)
