My dad is drumming his huge belly and singing that tribal like chinese tune which goes: " Hong long tong tong tong, (up 1 note) Hong long tong tong tong, (up 1 note) Hong long tong tong tong , (in release) WUUUUUUUUUUU1 !"
And i sort of picked it up and was singing it to myself in e living room when my mum, in her room, overheard and started singing what seemed like the COMPLETE SONG. (Did u guys know there was actually such a song?!) It goes something " xiao peng you a xiao peng you" and dunno wat "shang huo che" which means little friend, little friend come ride on the train. And she started "hong long tong tong tong"-ing. And i couldn't help but laugh when she started WUUUUUU-ing.
Its quite funny when you know where certain genes come from.
anyway,
okay guys it decided! haha! my family will be spending the 3rd week of december (13th to 19th) in WINTER HOKKAIDO! ROCKS! hahahahahah. (mania) Its like some surprise cos the intended destination was China. And with some impulse (and a long queue outside SA tours), we've got ourselves landed up with 4 tickets to JAPAN! NIPPON! NIHON! DREAMLAND! Oh man. Its winter. Snow and all. In Japan. JAPAN. *rolls all over the floor* JAPAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! Ooh ooh time to start practising my japanese . I can't wait to fly over and start asking everyone on the street in fluent Japanese : "(suavely) Yubin Kyoko was dochira desuka? " (which means : Where's the post office! ) haha! weeeeeeee! This is like gonna be something i'll REALLY be looking forward too. Although i really don't mind Yunnan China too but u guys know i jus dig Jap culture. I'm hari (which is ha1-ri4 = proJapanese).
Yay. I can't wait.
Watch 2046 and indulge your senses. You will have a story to follow (dun worry). One which briefly touches lives of a few beautiful women clad in their cheongsams. There isn't a real reason why any of them should be in the story. But you know the film would not be what it is if anyone of them should be missing. I'm not in love with the dialogue though, there were quite a few instances where i was consciously wrinkling up my nose because the dialogue were too weak : either overt or pretentious (or should i say 'overpretentious' , it's a wong kar wai film after all. ). And i didn't like having Takuya Kimura in it. His acting's really average. But i can see an effort to break away from his Jap-dorama acting style. And its quite silly to have a Japanese in it really. It baits for practical doubts like " How can Faye Wong and him talk when one of them speaks Japanese and the other , Mandarin ? " And why was the introduction narrated in Japanese. So redundant. Bai4 Bi3.
It is an inspirational movie for me. Especially at this stage where i am still experimenting with my writing style and 'writing conscience' ( a term i tagged on the morals i still have to uphold even in my works ). How much reality is allowed in your story? A point to think about. hmm.
I've been trying to read as much as i can and its been pretty smooth. Finished 2 books last week. Wrote a page of maybe 400 words or so. Decided i didn't want that page. Borrowed another 2 books. Dad bought another 7 books for me from Shanghai. China-published books are dirt cheap. $4 for one. gosh. I'm gonna buy BOOKSTORES in China.
But Beijing or Shanghai...beijing or shanghai?
(no mood to blog recently. this took great effort. *cough blood* )
