The most proposterous statement I've ever read regarding the recent heated debate on the Chinese language and its Education :
The Straits Times (020404) :
(can't remember e exact words) " ... setting the Chinese Language (mother tongue) as a criteria will hinder the local universities from attracting the best students from the region."
This is ridiculous. Define "best students" then.
And this is TOPS. I love this. Absolutely stinging. Whether they meant it to be or not, its a kick at the anti Chinese minority. " To flag the importance of bilingualism, students must still score at least a D7 for a mother tongue language ... "
